The Silent Way Danielle O Connor Akiyama

Posted 6/07/2010

The 2009 Florence Biennale prize winner Danielle O’Connor Akiyama combines an impressionistic style with a technical approach based on an extensive study of Japanese brush painting, creating a distinctive fusion of eastern and western artistry which has led to her works being highly prized by art collectors from both sides of the Pacific. Gallery Director Kevin Payne commented: “This important exhibition represents the largest and most diverse collection of Akiyama’s paintings ever to be shown in this country. It offers collectors a unique opportunity to acquire both new works and a small number of pieces from the artist’s personal portfolio.”
