Tracey Emin

Tracey Emin is a British contemporary artist best-known for her autobiographical artworks which explore themes of human existence and emotional tragedy. She is part of the second wave of the Young British Artists – a collective established by Damien Hirst which emerged from Goldsmiths School of Art, and rose to fame in the late 80s and early 90s. In 1999, Emin submitted an installation piece titled My Bed for the Turner Prize. This famous work became a media sensation and ensured her legacy in art history.
