Tracey Emin is a British contemporary artist best-known for her highly autobiographical artworks which explore complex themes such as human existence and emotional tragedy. She is one of several artists involved in the second wave of the YBA group – the young British artists – a collective established by Damien Hirst which emerged from Goldsmiths School of Art, and which rose to fame in the late 80s and early 90s.
