Michael creates work that is visually striking and reflects his great passion and enthusiasm for life.
In his stunning bronze sculptures, Michael Speller draws heavily on his own personal experiences, presenting his interpretation of the human condition. His distinctive, elongated figures, solitary or in groups, represent our environment, our families, our neighbours, and the society in which we live. All Michael’s pieces are interlinked and interdependent. As he explores the balance between conflicting forces and emotions, he creates work that is visually striking and reflects his great passion and enthusiasm for life. After a successful career in business, Michael made a life changing decision to pursue his ambition to become a sculptor. He studied at Chelsea College of Fine Art and since 2000 has been working from his studio close to Tate Modern at The Sculpture Academy in Southwark, London. Michael’s art lends itself to the large scale, and he has been sought to undertake a number of private and public commissions. His work sells to private collectors around the world.
