‘Spectrum’ is one of a new pair of dazzling images portraying the aurora borealis, or northern lights, from acclaimed artist and adventurer Philip Gray. On his travels around the globe, Gray has been fortunate enough to see this extraordinary phenomenon on many occasions, but this is first time he has captured them on canvas. The effect is stunning, with green swathes of light shifting and changing above the boats bobbing on the calm sea.
