Alicia Dubnyckyj is a world-renowned fine artist who combines traditional painting techniques and modern digital processes to create instantly recognisable and ultra-stylish contemporary cityscape. Her innovative style evolved from the notion of limited personal space within the urban environment which hampers the ability to take a step back and view the architecture and composition of the city with any clarity. This led her to explore ways of using technology to produce an image which appears to be composed of small abstract shapes, but resolves itself into a familiar city scene when we are able to step back and view it from a distance; something we cannot do when we are inhabiting the space itself.
Alicia uses gloss paint on board to create each stunning original composition. Before she begins to paint, she spends many hours in preparation, using photography and a range of digital processes to gather the raw materials which she requires in order to bring authenticity and integrity to her creative vision. Her unique skills were obtained through her degree in Art Design and Media, and was accepted to do an MA at the Royal College of Art.
