Forty Years On celebrates the extraordinary life and career to date of legendary British photographer John Swannell. The collection comprises a brand new retrospective book and 33 limited edition prints personally selected by Swannell, including international fashion shots previously published in Vogue, Harpers & Queen and The Daily Telegraph and images of such famous faces as Helena Bonham Carter and HRH Prince William.

A percentage of the print sales will be donated in support of the Lakeland Autistic Charity which John Swannell set up in with his wife, model Marianne Lah Swannell, in 2020.

The book includes over 200 photographs spanning the themes of fashion and beauty, nudes, landscape and portraiture, along with a host of personal anecdotes and insights from John Swannell.

Launch event

An exclusive event hosted by Clarendon at Daylesford Organic on 26th February celebrated the launch of John Swannell’s magnificent new book and accompanying exhibition. John signed copies of the book in the morning and hosted a cocktail reception in the afternoon at the opening of the exhibition in the estate’s beautiful Garden Room. Guests invited by Clarendon and by John himself included many famous names from the world of fashion, beauty and entertainment, including Lady Bamford, Sir Roy Strong and Chris and Francine Corbin.
