Australian born landscape artist Judith Bridgland has lived in Scotland since 1965 and now describes herself as a Scottish painter.
Her bold expressive work confronts the drama and emotion of the landscape she calls home and amplifies all that is beautiful in it. Working in oil on linen, she delivers bold, impasto strokes which reflect nature’s contrasts and harmonies with vibrancy and textural dexterity. The ever-changing light illuminates fields, mountains, hedgerows and the sea, with the expanse of the natural forms contrasting with complex abstraction to give a strong sense of place.
We are pleased to present Bridgland’s new collection which offers a breathtaking encounter with sea and sky, landscape and light.
