These 3D mixed media pieces explore the ideas of evolution and transformation in a kaleidoscope of colour.
Punk Me Tender is a French street artist living in LA whose 3D mixed media artworks explore the ideas of evolution and transformation. Describing himself as a fan of Darwin he plays with the concept of the butterfly effect to fashion works which are authentic, graphic and raw. Using a silhouette of a butterfly as his focal point he adds marks and lines around it with a spray can, before spinning the work at speed. This allows the piece to evolve in response to the outside forces exerted on it. The centrifugal force pushes the paint outward and it undergoes a dazzling and impressive transformation.

Mixed Media on Wood Panel with Diamond Dust

Punk Me Tender’s work can be monochromatic, or coloured simply with splashes of his signature fuchsia pink, but on a different day, his aluminium panel or stretched canvas will be wild and vivid, embracing an array of the most vibrant colours on the spectrum.

In 2017, Punk Me Tender had his first official solo show in LA and went on to enjoy success at exhibitions throughout the US and then in both Northern and Southern Europe. His collectors range from Khloé Kardashian and Kendall Jenner to Mariah Carey and Cardi B and he has held residencies as SLS Hôtel South Beach, Nobu, Astra, Club Miami and the Kiss Kiss Bang Bang Club in LA. In 2020, he began to number every artwork, creating a continuous line of unique pieces and painting the verso in the bright and uplifting shade of pink that has become his signature colour.
