Christian Hook Exhibition onboard the Queen Elizabeth

As the official art partners of CUNARD, Clarendon Fine Art onboard Queen Elizabeth opened an exhibition of works by celebrated artist Christian Hook. This exhibition coincides with Christian’s Mayfair event at our flagship gallery in Dover Street. The Mayfair exhibition is supporting the charity ‘Children in Crisis’, and will be attended by their founder and Life President Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, who Christian painted last year as a private commission.

Christian was the recipient of the 2014 Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year. His portrait of the actor Alan Cumming for the TV programme was acquired by the National Galleries of Scotland in 2014, and later selected by the Gallery Director, Sir John Leighton, as one of the 100 greatest works in the NGS collection. In 2015, the Sky Arts channel invited Christian to collaborate on a documentary series which followed his progress as he painted three portraits of famous British personalities: Mick Hucknall of Simply Red, the football star Fabrice Muamba and the actress Sue Johnston; the last of these has been acquired by an important UK Museum - announcement to follow.

In 2012 Christian was awarded the Clarendon Fine Art Prize, so we are particularly delighted to welcome him back into the gallery with this new exhibition.
